This universal transducer pole mount for boat rails, gunnels, and homemade rigs is our own clamp for putting the First Mate XT on almost anything. The head turns a full 360 degrees and locks with a quick release lever, the rubber jaws grip the pole without marking it, and a four bolt base screws to whatever flat surface you have. If your boat does not have a trolling motor kit or a track, this is where most XT installs start. $40.
What this transducer pole mount for boat rigs does
The XT pole is a 1 1/8 inch black anodized aluminum pipe with about 24 inches of open clamping room. This mount grips that pipe in a pair of rubber lined jaws, so you can set the pole height once and lock it with the lever. Loosen the lever, spin the head to any angle, tighten it again. The tension knob lets you dial the grip for the pole so it holds in chop without crushing the finish.
- 360 degree rotating head with a quick release lever.
- Rubber jaws that hold the pole without scratching it.
- Micro adjustable tension knob for the clamp.
- Four bolt base for a rail plate, a deck, a dock, or a homemade bracket.
Where this transducer pole mount for boat decks fits
Standard rails on aluminum boats, the bow deck of a bass boat, kayak crates, dock posts, and every homemade rig our customers have sent us. One customer bolted his to a bike repair stand. Because the base is a flat four bolt plate, you can mount it to a rail clamp, a track plate, or straight to the deck. Send us a photo of your bow through the contact page if you are not sure where it should go.
If you would rather put the XT on the trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ultrex kit and the Lowrance Ghost dog bone mount are the two kits for that. If your boat has Traxstech, Bert’s, or Cannon track, pair this mount with the 6 inch track adapter plate and it slides in and out with no drilling.
Why we make our own transducer pole mount for boat owners
Name brand mounting systems for a forward facing sonar pole run well over $100, and most of them are built for a specific manufacturer’s pole. Ours is $40, it is built for the XT, and it works with any other 1 1/8 inch pole. It is also the mount we sell most: a lot of customers buy it on its own first, then add the First Mate XT motorized transducer pole once they see how it fits.
There are real customer rigs using this mount in the customer installs gallery, and the videos page shows the pole running on the water. It carries the XT with any current live sonar transducer on the end: Garmin LiveScope, Humminbird MEGA Live, or Lowrance ActiveTarget.

Questions about this transducer pole mount for boat rigs
Do I need this if I buy the Ultrex or Ghost kit?
No. Those kits carry the pole on the trolling motor and include their own clamp. This mount is for rails, decks, tracks, and rigs that are not on the trolling motor.
Will it hold a manual pole?
Yes, if the pole is 1 1/8 inch in diameter. Most anglers use it with the XT, but the jaws do not care whether the pole is motorized.
Does it come with hardware?
The base has four bolt holes. Because every deck and rail is different, you supply the bolts that match what you are mounting to.
Will it mark up my boat?
The jaws are rubber lined so they do not scratch the pole. The base bolts down, so it needs four holes or an existing plate to bolt to.
